The votes have poured in, and we have now reduced the total supply of the $BLOK token…
After the successful launch of the Bloktopia DAO, we presented the chance for the community to vote on one of the most significant steps in the company’s direction to date - How much of the total supply of $BLOK tokens should be burnt?
We offered the community a choice of either 30% or 40% of the total supply to be burnt. After 6 days and around 300m of $BLOK cast in the vote, 40% was a resounding and unsurprising winner!

Token burning involves reducing the overall supply of a token by permanently removing coins from supply. The community has expressed interest in reducing the total supply, considering it to be too high. By burning a significant portion of the total supply, a total of 80 billion tokens- the token’s scarcity will increase.
How has this been done?
As proposed in the DAO proposal #2, in the essence of fairness, a pro-rated retrospective burn wis being applied. This would reduce the distribution amount on a pro-rated basis of tokens yet to be distributed.
